Born and raised in the cradle of Samba, Mayombe is a treasure and the true personification of Brazilian Art and Culture. Mayombe carries a strong connection to the roots and meaning of samba, all while executing phenomenal dance technique, freedom of movement, musicality and a historical knowledge that goes beyond what any book or academic text can convey. He carries in his body the salvation of Brazilian culture past and present, that he gives generously to the world through Afro Brazilian dances, percussion, Samba no Pé (Male and Female!) and other popular dance styles of past and present Brazil. Mayombe is a master at connecting the roots of samba to the contemporary, without losing its soul and essence.
