Samba & Afro-Brasilian Dance Series
Lorin Hansen will be teaching this special workshop for all levels, featuring live music! Find healing release, honor your body, and discover new parts of your dancing self in this Samba experience. Drawing inspiration and energy from Brasilian cultural archetypes like the Malandro and the Orixá, we will dance from the “souls” of our feet to the “crowns” on our heads. We will dance in rhythm together as we plant our feet, grounding our lower bodies to set our upper limbs free. We will explore Samba basics and footwork, with both male and female styling, and investigate the depth of the Samba tradition in its wholeness.
Tuesdays, January 7 - 28 ( four classes)
$60 full workshop or $20 single class
*Please note: We need a minimum of five students registered for this series in order for it to run. Please register in full now to ensure this workshop will run. If we do not meet our student minimum and the series does not run, your tuition payment will be refunded in full.
